mk2estate Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 ok ok, i believe ya...... julie you playin out wiv us this summer? im gonna sort another scarboro meet. i'd love to come over again but you'll have to stop picking on me! not sure about the wagon at the mo. carb needs setting up after i've rebuilt it, its losing oil from somewhere & a few other niggly things, haven't had chance to have a proper look round it yet but if the money situation gets better i'll get it sorted & i'll be there (money's that tight i might not even make scotch corner in march )

vibrating_Cake Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 i was thinking 185/60's , altho 195/55's have been suggested by a local tyre place. ahhh the 195/55r13's from a renault 5 gt turbo expensive fooookers!!! 195/50r15 if anything would be good. to be fair though, i run 195/50's no comfort problems and cheap tyres, for the same tyres on the old wheels (16's) i'd be paying 30quid more per tyre per wheel same for the 13's the only "good" tyre i could find was the one all the mk2's use, it literally is... the only one out there, and thats 175 wide (good grip though, from such a skinny tyre) find a nice wheel in 15" is what i reccomend. cheaper tyres, modern grip and modern comfort (sorry but, compared to 13's the best tyre in 13's is about as good as a moderate tyre is in 15's. different compounds in the new tyres, makes a massive difference!

caprinerd Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 fitting 15`s on a mk1 personaly i think kills the look of the mk1 but thats my feeling and im sure there are other that will disagree with it but thats my thought
