I run the 1,97 on 175/50/13 ao48r's My Renault is red with black arches.
Fiesta Steve Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 As above 2.00 rwd bad, 2.00 fwd good , lol I'm smoking the fronts through 60'
X-pack-Glyn Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 cant see why so you have good tyres and can take more than 2 seconds, i have shit tyres and take the same time or less and its not good enough something not adding up here somewhere.

Your car is heavier too on it's shit tyres! TomB glad to see you're still at it! 108 is flying - I assume you're squirting? How's the tina? Shouldn't you be in your garage? If it's not at this years classic ford day we'll know why....

Its easyer to hook a rear wheel drive car up, hence most drag racing cars are RWD. My light FWD drive car is hard to hook up and to get a 2.00 is going some. Make any sence???
Fiesta Steve Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 If my car was RWD I would be expecting 1.6 or 1.7 to 60'

Make any sence??? yeah, but if you got a FWD then thats your problem surely, why should i have to get to 60ft quicker than a FWD to earn any respect. tell you what, i went today and people take this stuff far too seriously... i mean someone took thier bonnet and wipers off, fooking letting tyres down, taking headlights out, i mean WTF is that all about, i turned up drove it 3 times down the strip then drove home.

It sure is my problem, thats why I chose a 1690 Crossflow to make up for the lack of grip, it seemed to work Its also the reason I have a RWD Fiesta in my workshop. As for letting air our of your tyres etc.. to make your car quicker, its called drag racing, I can race on the road if I like its much cheaper than Santa Pod and you can leave all your bits and bobs on but the police get the hump when I take my exhuast off You don't have to do any fantastic 60' times to earn respect, its the ET that counts, thats why we race isn't it, to get that ticket and the have some fun if taking bits off your car to make it quicker is someones idea of fun good luck to them.
X-pack-Glyn Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 thats fair enough... but isnt taking bits off cheating i going to do some auto testing as i prefer that TBH, can legaly get the tail out all day
Fiesta Steve Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 thats fair enough... but isnt taking bits off cheating i going to do some auto testing as i prefer that TBH, can legaly get the tail out all day Have you done any track days? I didn't think I'd enjoy them but they are really good, you can push so much harder than on the road Shame they are so expensive. The appeal of drag racing is you can race your own time in anything you don't need a big budget to have fun
X-pack-Glyn Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Track days are good but just too much of a rip off, auto testing is 20 quid for the whole day, ive got no chance of winning in a capri though but fiestas are pretty good at it.
