Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 As it turns out, I believe the stickers might be from one of our sponsors on here 'DMB Graphics' although I didn't realise this on eBay. I will be putting one of these on my back window Next is a reproduction of an extremely rare badge. It was called 'The Emblem Of Conversion Success' & was fitted to race and road cars which had been 'Alexanderised'. Unfortunately, my badge has got quite a nasty scrape on it, so I shall be sending it back for a replacment. I was going to put this on the back panel of the Anglia, and although it has 2 mounting studs with nuts, I don't think I would be happy as some theiving nob could still try to relieve it from the car What do you all think???

Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted February 26, 2009 Author Report Posted February 26, 2009 Excuse my ignorance but who or what is Alexander? Your excused Iam Alexander Didnt they do coach building Yes m8 LOL yes they did, but I don't think the 2 firms are conected Alexander Engineering were a successful tuning company of the 1950's and 60's, just like Super-Speed, Broadspeed & Aquaplane. They built engines and special 'go-faster' mods for cars they raced, they also sold these parts to the public. They are more accociated with BMC cars such as the Mini, but did parts for Rootes Group and Ford. The Ford parts are very rare especially the 100e bits, and I have been told that they sold modified Pre Crossflows for the 105e. Unfortunately I don't have one of those engines, but I do have one of their bolt on carburettor conversions, which consists of an Alexander inlet manifold with twin Zenith Stromberg Carburettors. After sourcing parts to rebuild them, I found out the carb's they used were off a 1965 Triumph 2000 which are the 'sided' units. When I bought mine, there was no throttle linkage so I had to make one (big thanks to Mick The Mig for the Aluminium sheet ) as very little info is out there for the Ford conversions. I have been told by certain professionals, and I quote: "They're a load of shit mate, you want to throw them in the bin", but they're different, and after alot of grief, they are finally sorted. So, I won't be binning them. Anyway, for those who may not have seen it, here's a pic of the carb's fitted to my 1300 Pre Crossflow BTW, if anyone has any info on the company or the parts, I would love to hear from you
Nettles Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 Nice badge fella deffo feeling that but as for the sticker! Whats next some go-faster stripes?
