FredTransit Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 Well, back from the PO, heard it all now. I had the reminder and the insurance, but the insurance says any vehicle, not the reg number (trader's policy). So they wouldn't accept it. Not to worry, the lady said, get a letter from your company stating the reg number and that you have insurance, I will accept that. WTF?? Why didn't I think of that? Would you like it written in crayon or marker pen? How does some bod behind the counter know what my letterhead looks like? Whilst I am at it I think I will knock up a nice RBS pension certificate..... Anybody else want one while I am at it?
Trevmk3 Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 i hate going to the post office as they are usually idiots working there as for the pension, get me down for one of them
Admin Vista Posted February 28, 2009 Admin Report Posted February 28, 2009 try another post office or go direct to the dvla by phone
FredTransit Posted February 28, 2009 Author Report Posted February 28, 2009 Thing is, I have a problem with giving the credit card number to the DVLA, in case they stick it on a CD and leave it on a bus. The only tax I do online is the free ones. So, that's a pension certificate for Trev (crayon or marker pen Kev?) Anybody else?
bortaf Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 I allways have that same problem find a PO where they actually know thier job propperly Got banned from me local main PO for complaining about the lack of Knolledge of the crappy counter staff, even got escorted off the premises Find a local one run by some Indians, they tend to WANT to do a good job and hense learn the rules and regs. By the way i went to the Boreham wood VRO offics and they took me traders fine, easyest taxing a vehical visit i've ever had, took 7 mins from sitting down to leaving with a tax disc (only had the V5c grren slip and that had been used to tax the motor once already and they are only valid for 6 months)
FredTransit Posted February 28, 2009 Author Report Posted February 28, 2009 Well you surprise me about the VRO, I thought they would be the worst of all. i thought the one I went to was OK, taxed the freshly bought bullion van there, with a complete V5 not in my name and the same policy. I hate inconsistency BTW can I interest you in a RBS pension certificate bortaf? Hmm? Crayon or I am doing a special on marker pen.....
FredTransit Posted March 1, 2009 Author Report Posted March 1, 2009 Well just for you mind. BTW the letter worked a tread, unbelievably!
