Yeomans22 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 as above, i have a new one, but but sure on the best way to fit it etc? will i have to cut much off it to make it fit? thanks Paul.
bomber1 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 the way i done mine was two long screw bolts through the front poss through front number plate the one little screw on the wheel arch each side. no cutting should be needed
wonderfulweasel Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 I think mine is done in the same way as above. Although the previous owner did it.
Yeomans22 Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 thanks, ill give it ago when i get a chance. should i run a seem of filler round the edges to smooth it in a bit? Paul.
bozie Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 i held mine in place and fixed it about every 200mm with screws then run a bead of white seam sealer round it to tidy up the join
emu Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Secure the 'front' using your number plate screws, then secure the sides by screwing the ends to the return lip of the wheel arch. That will hold it perfectly adequately, and without a row of screws along the top
Yeomans22 Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 thanks everyone, ill have ago at this, i didn't want one at 1st, but im going for the rally look now, ill get it stuck on asap.
BIGKEV Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Do NOT use Filler - get some Flexible filler and some fibreglass mixed together - works wonders - trust ...........word
kirk10 Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 tiger seal then screws in it to hold it over night untill tiger seal has gone off then remove screws and fill holes
Yeomans22 Posted March 8, 2009 Author Report Posted March 8, 2009 flexible filler ill get some, what is tiger seal? thanks
kirk10 Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 ive always used it in the past to fit body kits for people had none crack or split yet briliant stuff THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST ADHESIVE SEALANT ON THE MARKET AND IS NON SHRINKING AND PERMENANTLY FLEXIBLE. IT HAS MANY USES INCLUDING BONDING BODYKITS ,SPOILERS , LAMPS ETC.ALL TOU NEED TO DO IS TO MAKE SURE THAT BOTH SURFACES ARE CLEAN AND FREE FROM WAX AND DUST. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TIGER-SEAL-ADHESI ... 240%3A1318
Yeomans22 Posted March 8, 2009 Author Report Posted March 8, 2009 good shout m8, ill prob leave 2 scres for the number plate etc, and prob make a smal bracket for the bottom of the spoiler, can i use the selent to paint and smooth in?
kirk10 Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 yes mate and it can be painted over with no probs
BIGKEV Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 put it this way - with tiger seal if you get it wrong you will be removing the metal you bond it to to get it off. - its good stuff.
