over_head_cam Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Q: What will this engine rev to? 07-Mar-09 A: On it's hydraulic tappets it should be limited at 7750. If it was on solid tappets it has all the right parts (forged pistons, race valve springs,Cosworth crank & rods, steel flywheel etc) for it to rev to 8250. But it hasn't, so it won't

"whats the reserve" "just keep bidding till the reserve not met dissapears" What is it with fooking ebay sellers...if you wana sell it sell the bastard... gets right on my pip.
mk2 escy ron Posted March 8, 2009 Author Report Posted March 8, 2009 agreed does dodge a question a tad but the engine still looks the bollox and the price i think i would put up the extra and buy a complete saph strip what i wanted and sell the rest
SmokeEm Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 He also says it'd make 230+ bhp with different tappets & cam's? Would 45's allow such output?
Admin Vista Posted March 9, 2009 Admin Report Posted March 9, 2009 He also says it'd make 230+ bhp with different tappets & cam's? Would 45's allow such output? Probably not. As to not revealing the reserve I can kinda see why people don't want to do it. Once you've revealed the reserve there can be a tendency for people to expect you to be prepared to sell it for that whereas in reality the reserve is the MINIMUM you would sell it for.
mk2 escy ron Posted March 9, 2009 Author Report Posted March 9, 2009 why is it i write s.a.p.h without the full stops and i get taxi
bigdaz27 Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 paying that much for an engine of ebay is a bit silly wouldnt you say when you havent herd it run and if its fooked all you can do is have a good cry build your self or get a good engine builder to do it for you or find one you can here runing
sambo Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Cheap at £2800 Reserve not met?! i'd of thought it would have reached alot more than that!
Admin Vista Posted March 10, 2009 Admin Report Posted March 10, 2009 Cheap at £2800 Reserve not met?! i'd of thought it would have reached alot more than that! Depends on your perspective, personally I agree with BigDaz. I would rather pay more for an engine that has been built for me and I know what's gone into it and who built it than save a few ££ by buying an unknown entity on ebay. i.e. how many times do you see adverts for 2.1 gas flowed pinto with hi lift cam etc etc. Then what the buyer ends up with is a hunk of scrap iron assembled by Bill & Ben the flowerpot men in the garden shed?
