Nettles Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 I can now confirm that the OldSkoolFord - Medway Monkey’s Scalextric charity challenge will be held on Saturday the 9th of May 2009 at St.Botolph’s Church hall, The hill, Northfleet, Kent. DA11 9EU. Admission to the event will be free but there will be a one-off track fee of £5.00 for anyone wanting to race. All proceeds from the event will be divided between the St.Botolph’s Church fund and a donation to OldSkoolFord to help with the running cost. The event will run from 12:00pm until 6:00pm so everybody should be able to get plenty of track action. Everyone is welcome to bring your own slot cars to race with but there will be some “club” cars there to use if needed. We have accumulated a large amount of track and we hoping to provide a very large 4-lane circuit to race on. Track design is still in progress so the track length and number of laps per race is still to be confirmed. (Any track donations for the event would be gratefully received). We have had a great response for the event so far and we are hoping to see a good crowd from OldSkoolFord attending. So if you’re up for dusting off your old Scalextric cars and putting them to the test on our track then stick your name on the list so we can get a ruff idea of how many people are coming. 1. Nettles. 2. Noodles. 3. Pelvins. 4. Frenchy.

Nettles Posted April 7, 2009 Author Report Posted April 7, 2009 Yeah the track preparations are almost complete. Just finished building the bridge section so we should soon be ready for the final mock up. The 4-lane circuit is now just over 160 foot long!! So we should see some good track action on the day. So come on people stick your names down on the list and sign up for a great days racing.
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 The bridge is a work of art, well done to Mr. Mig £5 for a days racing is cheap at half the price if you ask me. BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!!!

Nettles Posted May 2, 2009 Author Report Posted May 2, 2009 One week to go before the OSF Medway Monkeys Scalextric Charity Challenge! Just finished wiring up the power and control module and building the 4-lane / twin tunnel bridge. There's a group of us going to the church hall tommoz for the final track mock up and to make sure every thing is working correctly. There's been a lot of hard work going into this event by everybody involved, so it would be great to see a good turn out. Remember proceeds from this event will be going to the church fund and also a donation to OSF. So if you fancy and great days racing on a 1:32 scale then come along!
