just had my diff rebuilt as it was fooked,my plate type diff you can turn 1 wheel only as it locks like a welded diff. Mine was making alot of noise on over-run & it was the pinion out of mesh from what i could gather. My own fault as i did'nt have it set up when i changed the oil seal.

Not slippers as in what you put on your feet then :(.

Sorry to hear about the possible car issues but I really thought it would be a post about slippers :(.

Just took mine out due to it making some strange noises as if there was something loose and banging about under the car only does it when going very slow but does seem to be getting worse

Car drove well enough and didnt seem to have any whining issues

but it is doing my head in

diff even locked the wheels together and they turned i the same direction easily when up on axle stands :(

Diff feels nice and free now i have removed it

Any ideas or help appreciated as i need the car for the lakes tour :)

exact same probs as above this is doing my head in gonna suck the oil out today and have a look need mine for the lakes as well

Had mine looked at today by graham at gs and he says there doesnt seem to be any major problems spins freely and no movement in anything

so back in it goes

Could be just the way the diff is set up as they can be set up soft or hard for rally use and they will react differently :)

I had my diff rebuilt last week by T 2 Motosport in South Wales

Took it in at 10.am and picked it up at 2.00pm and he changed a brake

pipe and bleed the brakes , The car now is quiet for the first time in three years i can just hear the engine roar now the way it should have been in the start, The diff was set up by tran x the first time and sent back to them as i wasn't happy with the noise and they said thats the way lsd's are

Lying bathplugs..............The Guy at T 2 Motosports said they didn't set it up right and it scored the crown wheel .

I now have fitted a radio/cd player as it would have been a waist of money before

Well today bit the bullet and removed the diff unit after more of the oil came out with major metal contamination.

Good news is the the lsd unit isnt u/s (not fecked)

But all the six set screws holding the crown wheel to the unit had unscrewed and have rubbed away a large amount of one of the bearing housings but being soft had not damaged the bolt heads the threads are damaged... Now i know they were glued in but now if the crown wheel threads are ok the feckers will be wired up tight
