jamie Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Hi all, Thought it may be worth posting here... I noticed a small hole in the exhaust manifold yesterday so put some sealant on it. Thought that cured it but after a long run today the manifold now looks like this: Is this fixable in any way? I have some exhaust "bandage" that looks like it repairs holes in back boxes (with paste too) but I think this looks like it's too far gone? Welding is the only option or get a new manifold? Would like to get the car back on the road asap so any advice appreciated. Thanks.
Admin Vista Posted April 26, 2009 Admin Report Posted April 26, 2009 It looks like you have corrosion and vibration working together there to split it all the way round. It looks pretty terminal to me but ultimately depends how much good metal is left to weld it up with.

fastferretzetecmk1 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 Ive had the same happen in the past, ive allways welded them back up, as the last guys say its normally due to vibration, you can brace the manifold, found this does help, but be prepered for a new manifold,
Toby Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 The brace is good advice. Really helps them last
