This is one of the biggest crashes I have ever seen, a Talbot sunbeam losing it at 155mph on Sunday at the Rally of Epynt in Wales.

Video Info:

This is the terrifying moment a rally drivers helmet is ripped off as his car flips at 115mph.

Darren Pools Talbot Sunbeam was caught in a gust of wind as it went over a small jump, spun five times then went head over heels twice.

But by a miracle Darren, 35, suffered only minor cuts and co-driver Chris Beer, 37, escaped with bruises to his face. One of Darrens arms can even be seen dangling out of the window as the drama unfolded in front of his horrified family on Sunday morning.

The battered car eventually came to a halt 150 yards from the tracks at the RDP Welsh Rally at Epynt in mid Wales. Rescuers rushed over fearing he and Chris were dead.

Mechanic Darren, from Exeter, Devon, said: "I was going over a jump Id done about 25 times before but this time for some reason we lost our line while we were in the air.

There was a gust of wind and we realised we were coming down all wrong. The car landed in a ditch and just started rolling over and over. "

both me and hubbie use to race cars, can never understand why people would race bikes, give me metal around me any day. Pleased to hear both guys are ok, I'm sure no ride at Alton Towers will frighten them again!!!
