Second that........

i wanted to swap my insurance over from my pug mi16 to the capri...

they were fine untill i said id fitted a 2 litre so they needed an engineers report (for raplacing a pinto with....a pinto  )...

so i did the report, then they refused to insure it because id fitted alloy wheels, even though they were capri alloy wheels :roll:

King clueless twatts... the cars only actually driven for about 40 hours a year and less than 2000 miles, talk about throwing away easy money

They make me laugh insurance companies

The best one i had was when I first started racing I had a mk1 long wheel base transit transporter with a 3lt V6 8)

so I go to my local insurance agent told them what it was the guy gave me a quote then said what you putting on the back :?:

Hot rod said I

Sorry m8 he said if you put a car on the back the insurance is void

I kid you not :?

Tried another place

The guy asked what type of racing car

Hot rod said I

No sorry m8 if it was a single seater we could but saloon cars NO

But it’s only got one seat said I

NO

Fooking Apple Pies

So I got my self a traders policy and could drive anything up to £40.000

Did it over the phone was with them years never had any probs :D

Churchill are just as useless. Was with them for about ten years with no-claims then a guy drove his lorry into my (parked!) car. Modern FWD (sorry!) car had a small dent in the rear quarter, small crease in the tailgate, and the rear bumper (plastic) was dead.

Lorry driver was a nice bloke. Very apologetic, gave me all of his details and admitted full responsibility so no problems (or so you would think).

After six weeks of bl**dy pointless phone calls ("....are you SURE you weren't in the car?...." "......" are you SURE the lorry was blue...." etc etc.) we got it into one of Churchill's 'recommended' garages for repair.

Two months later (!) it returned, and it looked like the repairs had been done by a blind man with a broom. Wrong colour, runs, bumper not fixed on properly.........

After a further 4 months of complaining I sent a recorded delivery letter to the MD saying how pi**ed I was, and I was just about to go to the press.

Strangely enough, within two weeks the car was back into a garage that I recommended - painted beautifully - and they refunded my years insurance cost.

Won't ever insure with them again though. To**ers!
