Daggle Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Iv'e got 60's but think the handling is a bit suspect with them on, gonna try some 50's next, just have to be careful where I drive it....
Guest MK1gaz Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 They look fooooking ace , my mates sons got them on his anglia and it looks sweeeeeeeeet
DEP Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 I ve always thought the 175/50 tyres on my revos looked too small........ But put it down to the wheels being black, thats what made me decide to paint the wheels. But even now i m still not sure, i think it maybe because the arch on a mk2 is a different size and shape to a mk1 But somehow on a mk1 they fill the arches unlike they do on a mk2, i may well try the 185/60 s on the revo s in the new year
Guest MK1gaz Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 black wheels always look pooooop , your car looks great with the white wheels mate . You can fit 185/60/13's on a mk2 with 7's as the rear arches are wider than a mk1's
CéDriC Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 i prefer 175/50 on the black rims... But your car is cool...
james p Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 i love my 50s but with the 2 inch drop i seem to slap the road a little bit soo im guna get my 15" wheels fitted in the new year

BaileyMex Posted December 19, 2006 Author Report Posted December 19, 2006 Ok, now here's a question The traditional 'Lotus Steel' we all know, I've seen quite a few pics of them on cars now and some look to have a deeper dish than others So are there different size Lotus rims or are my eye's playing tricks on me??
Johnson Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 i believe seven inch wide lotus wheels were produced for certain ralley/race cars however they are rare as rocking horse sh*t now. second to that banded steel keep popping up on ebay
daytona Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Have you considered early type Mex steels Colin? They look the same as lotus steels apart from slots around where the caps go. Had them on my mex a few years back (see avatar) before I changed to minlite sports.
BaileyMex Posted December 19, 2006 Author Report Posted December 19, 2006 Yeah, but its silly really i'm not keen on the slots on the wheels
daytona Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Yeah they don't look as clean as the Lotus's, I regret selling my steels, I've always loved an Mk1 slammed on steelies
cortinaman Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Ok, now here's a question The traditional 'Lotus Steel' we all know, I've seen quite a few pics of them on cars now and some look to have a deeper dish than others So are there different size Lotus rims or are my eye's playing tricks on me?? Most Lotus steels are 5.5", 6" wide Lotus Steels were a special equipment option on the Lotus Cortina, but are pretty rare. I have heard of 7" Lotus steels but never seen any. The wheels on my Mk1 'tina are 6".

No but a company in england produce "Dunlop" style steelies... And they're the same middle as Lotus... They're called MWS (Midland Wires Steels or something like that) they normally still produce steelies but 7 years ago they quote me 180£ one wheels.... They produce wire wheels for Jaguar and so on.... Hope this help...
BaileyMex Posted December 19, 2006 Author Report Posted December 19, 2006 Looked on the MWS Site and cant see them
CéDriC Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Looked on the MWS Site and cant see them Perhaps it's msw.... I can't found them too... But they quote me for 2 x 6 x13 dunlop style and 2 7 x 13 dunlop style... I known they do wire wheels for a lot of car because they offer me wire wheels option for the anglia...
Gareth Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Colin m8, What about the mk3 Z thats in the new CF, They look like lotus's jus deeper. The company he got em from should be able to sort out some 4x108 wheels

Can't wait to get it back on the road, ran out of MOT in september but should be back soon!!
