I ve always thought the 175/50 tyres on my revos looked too small........

But put it down to the wheels being black, thats what made me decide to paint the wheels.

But even now i m still not sure, i think it maybe because the arch on a mk2 is a different size and shape to a mk1 :? But somehow on a mk1 they fill the arches unlike they do on a mk2, i may well try the 185/60 s on the revo s in the new year

black wheels always look pooooop , your car looks great with the white wheels mate . You can fit 185/60/13's on a mk2 with 7's as the rear arches are wider than a mk1's :D

Ok, now here's a question

The traditional 'Lotus Steel' we all know, I've seen quite a few pics of them on cars now and some look to have a deeper dish than others

So are there different size Lotus rims or are my eye's playing tricks on me??

Posted

i believe seven inch wide lotus wheels were produced for certain ralley/race cars however they are rare as rocking horse sh*t now. second to that banded steel keep popping up on ebay 8)

Have you considered early type Mex steels Colin? They look the same as lotus steels apart from slots around where the caps go. Had them on my mex a few years back (see avatar) before I changed to minlite sports.

Most Lotus steels are 5.5", 6" wide Lotus Steels were a special equipment option on the Lotus Cortina, but are pretty rare. I have heard of 7" Lotus steels but never seen any. The wheels on my Mk1 'tina are 6".

No but a company in england produce "Dunlop" style steelies...

And they're the same middle as Lotus...

They're called MWS (Midland Wires Steels or something like that) they normally still produce steelies but 7 years ago they quote me 180£ one wheels....

They produce wire wheels for Jaguar and so on....

Hope this help...

Looked on the MWS Site and cant see them

Perhaps it's msw....

I can't found them too...

But they quote me for 2 x 6 x13 dunlop style and 2 7 x 13 dunlop style...

I known they do wire wheels for a lot of car because they offer me wire wheels option for the anglia...

I have 175/50's on the front of my car with 235/50's on the back! running standard suspension at the moment! digging up catseyes with the crossmember under hard breaking! might handle like poo but looks cool, and with pirreli's on the front and footwide B F goodrichs on the back you can't help but get it sideways!!

Can't wait to get it back on the road, ran out of MOT in september but should be back soon!!
