Morley Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Ok people... Mk1 Fiestas, your thoughts... Good or bad? Old skool or not? Fun or pants? I welcome your thoughts good or bad and don't pull any punches!!!
stuartp Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 great little cars - probably a familiar entry point for a lot of people into old ford's so important in that respect i had a 1300 mk1 fiesta for a while - one of the nippiest and easiest to drive cars I ever had - i loved it they can be made to look really good too (mine didn't) sold it to a guy who then drove it all the way to Paris they get the thumbs up from me (probably more so than the fwd mk3 escort - although i reckon the same things apply to both cars)
Capripete Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Brilliant little cars! Old skool. Lots of fun. Plus they're still affordable and insurable!
brettp Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 there are only so many escorts you can feature and what with the prices, fiestas are the only option for some people and there have been some really really nice ones put together so they get the ok from me just no cossies they are sh...t

longun79 Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 early fiestas are older than some mk2 escorts, capris and granadas, just cos theyre fwd doesnt make them non classic etc, they were a break through for ford theyre first mass fwd car, cheap ,reliable and also have a good motorsport history.good enough for roger clark, good enough for me.........when i eventually finish mine
Guest chriscapriman Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 quality cars all of em from 957 pop's to xr2's and supersports, also like a nice 1300 ghia with chrome bumpers having had one as my first car at age 15 which i got all T&T for passing my test , matt black with gunmetal pepperpots and home made 1/4 bumpers and lowering springs, it was quite a little looker looking back now, i shud of tried to keep it beige , im doin an 1800 zetec xr2 at the moment, for less than a grand when i got it bits aned bobs as it is now-ish new sills and all welding done. just need to get sills sanded down a bit more and painted this weekend weather and capri axle swap permitting, plus go and pick some drive shafts up from a mate so we can mount the engine properly and wire it all in oh and put the yellow wheels back on should be finished just after ford fair and motd in time for blackpool all ford day
