stevepeanut Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 I'm wondering what people think, I love my escort so much, the only real problem I have with it is. I didnt build it. I've pulled up at a few shows and its been recognised as "oh thats marks old car" "isnt that the escort mark built" A lad called mark from one of the northern rs clubs put the car together, I've met him and hes a nice guy. He did the subaru paint, the wheels, the gartrac front spoiler, the round light conversion etc. I do love my car, but somedays I wonder about selling it and getting a totally standard osf, and building/modding it myself. But on the other hand, the car is excellent and I like the way its been done, its just hasnt got my personal stamp on it.
GJUK Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Buy one done. Cheaper, quicker, less hassle. Did I say cheaper? J

Mr Sam Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 stick with it and change odds and sods to leave your own touch on it ive just got rid of my anglia for a fezza on the road as i just wanted something i can use imediatly and change the odd bit, having a project and building it all to your own spec is good.......if you like chucking money down bottomless pits

I think some new wheels might be top of the list, to personalise it a bit
emu Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 If you buy another car that is already built then you risk the same thing surely? I'd be more inclined to add to what you already have, especially with you knowing that it is a solid car to start with. Even just a change of wheels and height can dramatically alter how a car looks
fezza Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 As already mentioned a change of wheels would make a huge differance to how the car looks, must be hard when the car looks pretty much spot on as it is but wheels is a good place to start imo, what about painting the rear pannel black like the RS and mexico? just thinking out loud
Copey Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 i think light projects are the way forward, can put your own twist on it without having to spend a shed load of money on it gettin it right
BIGKEV Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 Well - this is where I come in - I'm of the belief that if you build your own car then you know at the first instance that something is wrong and better than that you know why, where its coming from etc Building an OSF doesnt have to cost an arm and a leg provided that time isnt the major factor and the end apperance is - My car was built on an extremely modest budget.
