mk2Jordan Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 what is the point even though i have one, people still fish with out one
X-pack-Glyn Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Because if you fish day ticket and public venue's they DO check, do you want to risk a 2k plus fine for the sake of 25 quid? they even check some private waters now, and have rights to access the propperty without owners consent ift they suspect someone is fishing without one. And they confiscate your gear too, in my case thats £7k quids worth... Just pay the 25 quid eh!
Admin Mk2Jo Posted May 20, 2009 Admin Report Posted May 20, 2009 And he only pays £5 because he is only 14
X-pack-Glyn Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 And he only pays £5 because he is only 14 Thats fine, but just be aware that covers one rod only, i have to buy 2 licences to cover 4 at 25 quid each. What fish is he fishing for anyway?
Mr Sam Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 id seen an advert for this on teh TV never knew such a thing egsisted weve got a large(ish) pond do i need one for that then ........ i dont have a rod though and havent fished it since i were about 14

If your just tiddler bashing its up to you, but i dont fancy loosing all my gear and having a 2500 fine on top for the sake of 50 quid.
Durham Fiesta Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Most of the waters in this area you need a day ticket and a rod licence to fish legally. Also some bailiffs now have the power to hold you and handcuff you until the police arrive. They are getting really tough on it now, this year they seem to have kicked up a gear to catch offenders

emu Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 I remember we were always supposed to have to get a rod licence and day passes to fish down the moat of the local fort. Ive never known what the rod licence is actually for though? other than a job creating, money making scheme! I havent fished for years and years though so isnt really relevant to me nowadays anyway. Id just like to know so I can sound clever if someone asks

X-pack-Glyn Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Ive never known what the rod licence is actually for though? other than a job creating, money making scheme! I forget the actual name but it goes towards preventing desease in fish all over, and containing desease when it gets out, theres all sorts of nasty crap, especialy in rivers that has to be controled.

BIG G Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 Theres no point to any fishing unless you can eat um when caught Sea fishing is cool and river fishing is pointless and dull
Fishtailparka Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 Rod licenses are one of the rare occassions where the money does actually go where it does some good.
