electronoic ignition

i want an electronic ignition for my escort (1600 x flow )but after lookin for a while im well confused .any recomendations ? also r they easy to fit as in pretty crap with eletrics other than stereos .if not where should i get it done (near heathrow ish lol)

Try H&H or Bestek.

 

I'm using Bestek and can recommend them, very easy to fit

speed shack do a kit around 75quid and a few wires think they can / have a recomended garage down the rd from them

yep, if your scared of electrics go with H&H or the kit that speed shack do!

I can highly recommend Aldon Automotives' Ignitor system, as made by Pertronix.

All you do is remove the points and replace with the ignitor and away you go.

I would also recommend fitting a performance coil,a set of top quality leads and harder plugs to get the best out of whatever system you go for.

IM LOOKIN AT PUTTIN AN ELECTRONIC IGNITION IN MINE TOO BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE LUMENITION OPTRONIC IS THE WAY TO GO AS THESE DONT MESS YOU ABOUT IF THE DIZZY SHAFT STARTS TO WEAR, IS THIS RIGHT AS THEY ARE 130 QUID WITH THE OPTRONIC EYE AND FITTING KIT, SOME OF THE SUGGESTIONS ON HEAR SOUND A LOT CHEAPER, ANYBODY GOT MORE INFO ON THESE KITS FROM H+H.

Thats the way to go i reckon m8,i had one of his kits on my fiesta and have just last weekend bought a kit for my pinto,i think the x flow kit is £165 buy it now which is great value as you get the module and a brand new dizzy and coil ,if you tell him your engine spec he will adjust the advance curve accordingly

£130 is alot of money when all you get is the module and a kit to convert your old dizzy,as above bestek kits are good quality and you get all brand new stuff,x flow kit is £165 and pinto kit is £175

i think those kits were only about £80 at speed shack ?
