In my experience HSS are the cheapest (when I was looking to hire an engine hoist anyway)

it might even work out cheaper to buy one then sell it on afterwards depending how long you need it for doc

Normally a day's hire is something like 1/4 it's value..

 

 

So if you need it more than a couple of days you might as well buy one
