Dom Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 I know some people moan about putting non-ford engines into the OSF's, like GM engines for a start but what about these two: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FERRARI-360-MODEN ... dZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MASERATI-3-2-32v- ... dZViewItem A few months ago my dads mate was rebuilding a Dino and took out the 2.0 V6 because the bloke who owned it wanted a 2.4 V6 version. He was like 'Why don't you put that V6 in your capri?' Shame I turned down the offer, I was thinking rationally at the time and thats not always a good thing
antz Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 thing with ferraris is they dont sound like what i would cal a traditional V8. they sound one of them go-peds on steroids. not a good sound. cant beat a mustang v8
Pipster007 Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 It would certainly be different............Expensive when it goes Pete Tong. You'd need to find the gearbox too I keep thinking of a Porsche 944 set up in the Capri. Buy a whole car for £3000 then you have the engine, tranaxle and rear suspension, then you would finally have a Capri that will handle due to the more evenly distributed front/rear weight ratio and no more cart springs

Buy a 924s and you get all the same bits but for £1500 for one.
Danmex Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 You wouldn't feel so bad scrapping a 924 either, deffo the runt of the litter
wired Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 rotary poreted and big turbo.1000hp weighs same as packet of monster munch.. or scooby power 280 sti lump then tune it............
scruffythefirst Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 st220 mondeo V6, VAG twin turbo v6, new corvette ls7 for a biggish car like a capri peripehral port rotary with or without turbo's, hyabusa turbo or that toyota 4age in something light like an escort
Anglia68 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 How about a Skyline twin turbo in a Capri with a 8 or 9" rear end, fully linked of coarse.
Dom Posted September 16, 2006 Author Report Posted September 16, 2006 How about a skyline floorpan and running gear with a capri body? They regularly hit 200+mph and I deffo reckon a capri would look good going that fast Anyone got a tape measure handy?
bashmk1 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 dont go for the 4wd skyline. rwd all the way!!! a 2.5 single turbo skyline can easily produce 800bhp. and i bet they arent that much bigger than a capri.
orionmojo Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 theres been no mention of brakes until now could be worrying! and if i was going to do a ad coplete engine swap type job it'd have to be a mustang v8
Dom Posted September 16, 2006 Author Report Posted September 16, 2006 Well they arn't too different, the GT-R34's wheelbase is exactly 4 inches longer but thats not a problem. Oh and for anyone who has seen the trailer for The Fast and The Rubbish: Toyko Drift, the fastback mustang in it has a single turbo RB26DET engine.
bashmk1 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 the 32's and 33's will be smaller then. 34's are the size of wales!
Dom Posted September 16, 2006 Author Report Posted September 16, 2006 yup! They've got London Eye's for wheels as well
Mr.Sumo Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 http://www.gumtree.com/london/67/5899967.html how bout this for you......
QuadCamCapri Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Have driven a few Maserati's including the Shamal with the 32V Twin Turbo V8 and the 24V Twin Turbo V6 fitted to the Ghibli Cup which is what I would go for as it has more power than the V8 Would like to do a BMW S38 straight-6 fom an M5 into a Capri, 350bhp N/A yes please
