Fathers Day ... ?

Ok, My Dad does not believe in Fathers Day,he thinks its a waste of time and effort let alone cost .

 

So discuss your views on Fathers Day,Mothers Day etc

My old man feels the same but completely agrees with mothers day . I'm not complainin, it means i dont have to buy him much . 6 quid cd n the job is done

its nice to recieve cards from my kids, theyve all flown the nest now so it shows they still care and think of me, this is my favorite card this year,

My other half as just bought 3 cards from the kids for me, probably cost about a tenner, and for what, they be in the bin this time next week Oh, and not forgetting another two cards for her and my Dad !!

I agree and despite making my thoughts on it clear was presented with card, presents and breakfast in bed this morning! I kinda liked the breakfast in bed bit but having a sneaking suspicion that the main motive for it all was so that she can demand the same on Mothers day.

my dad doesnt agree with fathers day but makes sure we have something nice for mothers day, i usually make him a card and something nice to eat cos he is the hardest person to buy a present for

I suppose it nice to show sum appreciation for the people that raised you, most people just dont agree with the gimmicky side of it.

i dont agree with it really its just a waste of money, i feel the same about birthdays though to be honest.

 

i must say i enjoyed watching my little boy walking round with a gift bag almost as big as him defiantly ignoring his mothers instrictions to hand it to his daddy, lol

most of my termites have left homenow as well but its nice when they come round on days like tday like tony says it shows they care and i also got a card from a girl who lives local she was sexually abused by her own father , and she says in the card, ive been more like a dad and father to her.

i think its a waste of time, i will buy my parents things throughout the year if i see something that either of them would like, which i think is nicer than some set day to "show appreciation"

 

though i still buy my parents things on fathers and mothers day

Got my dad a violent veg birthday card crossed out the message, wrote Happy fathers day & gave him a massive toblerone.

I got my old man a set of welding clamp (it's what he wanted) and then as a special treat he can use them on my Escort.

I got a 1/18th scale Escy for my partner (from our little 3 yr old) she's not quite old enough to shop yet and she told daddy "sorry but I didn't have enough money for a real one"
