I went to my local DVLA office this morning to change the engine size / number & the taxation class on my escy. The doris spent ages asking her supervisor how to do the paperwork. The supervisor came back to he counter with the doris & said there was no problem changing the docs but & i quote ' you are wasting your time & money as there is NO WAY that a zetec from a 1998 mondeo will fit into a 1974 escy' !! I tried to re-assure the man that this is becoming a common conversion but he just looked & smiled at me as if i was crazy. :banghead::mrgreen::thumbsup:

Not really a change then? Still PLG, the same road tax for a 1974 car. I know what you mean about changing the engine size though. Did they want any detailed proof or the engine swap.

they just wanted a receipt for the engine, but since the donor car is in my name they were happy. just wanted to keep it 'legal' incase i get pulled over , and some copper spots its not a xflow under the bonnet

Me: It's a two litre mondeo zetec.
