I know someone who has just clocked up a £450 mobile bill

 

What's been your biggest and why?

My biggest was £310 because i call and text ireland alot

60 pounds one month ,that was when i was just buying my car so lots of ringing around etc..

I have just paid off my 14 year old son's mobile bill for just under £170 - all texts to his g/f Texting shite every 3 seconds

 

He has now paid me back I might add but his agreed monthly charge is only £12.00 which includes 150 mins and 150 texts which was fine at first but in one month he did 954 texts and his bill comes out of my bank account

 

He has now dumped the girl and was grounded BIG time for a few weeks, no phone, no nothing

 

His last phone bill was £12.04

Had a big fight with Orange, and they cut off our company phones. Except one. But they thought they had cut off all of them. So, including roaming, managed to clock up £550, one month, including what was owed from a previous bill, it was over a grand (that's seven numbers though, including mobile broadband).

prolly about £25 lol, i am not a big spender, 400 texts, 200 any network mins and then free o2 to o2 cars

Last year one of my daughters friends came on holiday with us and was using my daughters phone to call and text her boyfriend and i got landed with a £369 bill which i presented to the girls parents which they paid but i still had a go at my daughter for letting her friend use her phone

I use PAYG on a genie card, chuck a tenner on and get 200 free texts in the first month, then normal rates apply, tenner normally lasts me between 3-4 months, if they want to hear my voice let them call, and if you do need to make a call let it ring twice then switch it off and they normally phone back

 

On the subject of being tight I once worked with a bloke who would sit in his living room without the light on and reckoned he could see to read a newspaper from the streetlamp outside

A friend of mine was rung up by someone asking about what he paid on his mobile because they would try to beat it. He said he spend about £30, so the guy on the other end worked out this package for £20 a month, gave him all the details, and asked if that was any good for him. He said, no, £30 a year on his PAYG. The phone inexplicably went dead

i had to pay mine tho am currently trying to claim some back through ofcom .....think over a grand for a week of phone calls is bit much!!!!

I refused to pay ours. We had a company go bust about 5 years ago, and the phones were in the old company's name. Suddenly out of the blue they cut them off. We must have easily had the numbers for a decade, and as they had not been cut off before it's obvious we were paying the bills. We would have happily paid the bills if they allowed us to keep using the numbers, but they not only wanted us to do that, but pay them up to July, in advance. So I said fook em, and didn't pay the last bill.
