.pete. Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Does anyone know if it is possible to find out what cars a person has owned by their name. My Dad had loads of Fords over the years, and i'd love to see if any of them are still on the roads or even maybe on here, but I don't have any of the registration numbers. He was never really into taking photos of cars either so i've not got anything to go by.
mk3cokebottle Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 i know that there is a way that you can find out a certain cars history but im not sure if you can do it for a specific person .... the best thing for you to do mate is phone up dvla enquiries or email them off there site www.dvla.gov.uk
FredTransit Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 I think you will struggle with this in this day and age of data protection. You can find out the past owners of your own car, but I have never heard of anybody finding out cars from the owner.
.pete. Posted August 8, 2009 Author Report Posted August 8, 2009 i didn't think it would be possible. I'd love to find one of his old Fords though.
bortaf Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 You can apply for a owner history of a certain car IF you are the durrent keeper on the V5 (for a fiver i think?) not sure about cars somone used to own could try visiting the local DVLA office with some ID they might do it for a fee?

.pete. Posted August 10, 2009 Author Report Posted August 10, 2009 I looked up 2 of my Dads old Capris on that site and they both have liability of 2005. Does that just mean they have just been untaxed since then, or does it mean they are scrapped?
Trevmk3 Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 they may of just been sorned since then so could be off the road getting repaired/restored but then again they could of been scrapped
AdeV Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 I looked up 2 of my Dads old Capris on that site and they both have liability of 2005. Does that just mean they hane just been untaxed since then, or does it mean they are scrapped? They are either scrapped or (illegally) unlicenced. If they were licenced or SORNed, the date would be 2009 or 2010.
