Morning all,

I recently bought a 1968 Cortina GT with no engine or transmission and look forward to a project. I also bought a Thunderbird Supercoupe, a supercharged 3.8 litre V6; looks like it's going to fit.

A magazine called Grassroots Motorsports holds an event every year to compete in 1/4 mile drags, Auto-X and Concours; spending no more than $2009 and show all receipts. I hope to be ready for the $2010 event next October.

Because of logistics I doubt I will ever attend any meet & greets but I do look forward to picking your collective brains on Ford issues; you seem a polite, knowlegable bunch.

Hello Dan and a very warm welcome to OSF :thumbsup: Does "logistics" mean you are based on the other side of the world from us in the UK? :D

Welcome mate

Does your username mean you driver a 914 Porsche?

If so, you should have posted this in the "Go and Stand in the Corner" section

Actually thats not right, because I would be rather jealous

No, logistics just refers to a new sport which mixes logic & athletics.

Yeah, we have $$$ here, no pound key on my computer.

I do have a Porsche 914, bought it from the original owner who was dating a girl that worked for Porshe in 1974. 57,000 miles, always slept inside and has only been rained on five times. Nice car, it's for Sunday morning breakfast outings with the wife.

I have a few photos of the Cortina, right now I'm trying to figure out how to delete the power steering and air conditioning pumps from the engine.

I'm too new to put up pictures, but if you go to GRMotorsports dot com you can see some Challenge entrants. Nice Message Board, no flaming, very diverse group.

Hmmmm..... a young girl working for Porshe in 1974 would be, what? RETIRED !

True, but she was young once and quite classy if I were to guess (ie being at Porsche)

Anyway, post some junk around here some more to get your count up then post some pics of the 914 8)

Makes sense, do you guys get Nigerian scams?

we used to get all sorts, porn links, online prescription drugs sellers, mobile phone companies etc etc. Since we implemented this policy it's controlled them a bit. They still sign up but as they can't actually post links or photos and their user names usually give them away, we can delete them pretty quickly.

Welcome Dan. Like Vista says we do still get a few, mostly from eastern Europe and China. The 'more than 10' post rule gives us time to delete them before they post.

I hopw you find all the info you need for your project

I can't post pictures or links, but if you got to G R Motorsports dot com; up in the right hand side is a search box. Type in "BatVan".

That's the car I built for the $2004 Challenge. [1,220.38 GBP]
