y282 Posted November 2, 2009 Author Report Posted November 2, 2009 dirty one of the back end (missus): bit better: front on in the rain:
y282 Posted November 2, 2009 Author Report Posted November 2, 2009 another under bonnet: plenum resprayed in bmw arctic silver, the rockers i did in a blue plastikote paint from b&q that's a very close match for ford blue. really easy to get a good finish with and hasn't peeled or discoloured. almost looks powdercoated! no rust in engine bay as it gets a covering of waxoyl/used engine oil every year. handy having a black car!
y282 Posted November 2, 2009 Author Report Posted November 2, 2009 very poor quality shot of the interior. no rips!
evil knievel Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 lovely car, but get a new camera only joking mate. i love a 24v capper
Andrade Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 very nice! congrats once again amazing capri
y282 Posted November 3, 2009 Author Report Posted November 3, 2009 lovely car, but get a new camera only joking mate. i love a 24v capper i cant afford one after building this bloody thing! tbh the camera is ok, i'm just arse at taking pics. i'll try to do some better ones.
y282 Posted November 5, 2009 Author Report Posted November 5, 2009 Nice job, what rad is that? radiator is out of a dohc 2.0 51erra, with fans from same car. i ran it with the 2.8i capri rad and electric fans for ages but nothing really seemed to keep it cool enough. the fans are controlled by a thermotime switch you can see under the bonnet, but i have a manual override one on the dash where the speaker bias switch used to be. under normal driving the thermotime occasionally clicks on, but if i drive it hard i find it easier to bring the fans in manually if i have to sit in traffic afterwards. dont know how others get on with it but i found the 24v can get hot in there very quickly if the cooling system isnt set up just right.
stevoehm Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 clean and uncluttered, very nice, bet its a bitch to keep clean tho
2litreScapri Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Nice, how'd you get the extended bonnet?
y282 Posted November 11, 2009 Author Report Posted November 11, 2009 and yes, it's a total arsehole to keep clean. the bonnet isnt extended btw, it's totally standard. i had the lip on the end of it colour coded (the bit that bolts to the bonnet and looks a bit like a top slat for the grille) as well as the grille and light surrounds. maybe it looks extended because of that, but it's all definitely standard.
