i was wondering if there are any laws or regulations regarding to the MOT of having a fuel tank in the boot. ive just fitted an alloy tank in mine, however i was wondering if i will need to add a firewall to where the back seats were as there wont be any back seats.

MK1,2 Escorts and Anglias and Minis have the fuel tank in the boot.

The only concern I would think, would be the filler in the boot without a firewall and a external vent, as all the tank in boots mentioned are factory fitment, fill from the outside and vent to the outside

ah yes of course, the vent. what if i ran a hose from the breather on the top of the tank to outside the car, would that rectify the problem. ill make up a firewall then out of some sheet steel, is there any particular way this has to be done, i.e sealed in with silicone to make it more air tight so to speak.
