Hi Folks, Been signed up to this forum for a while but never really posted (Sorry).

I'm Mike, I'm 29 and I'm from Ipswich, I've always had a big interest in old Fords from a very early age, My dad was always buying Fords so i guess i got it from him, I grew up with him having a Mk4 Cortina 2.0 S and a Cortina 1.6 Crusader as well as lots of Escort's.

I do run a old car but sadly not a Ford, It's a 1975 BMW 1602, It makes me laugh that when they was new my BMW would of cost more then any Escort at the time but now you can buy the BMW for more than half the price of a Mk 2 2 door!, Which is the reason i haven't got a Escort which is what i wanted.

Anyway thanks for reading!.

Got a clutch sorted btw in the end, paid £35 for a geniune one, cheaper then the £130 + vat Bmw wanted!

At least you can still get parts for a classic BMW from the main dealer, try it at Ford and they look at you like cars didn't exist before about 1990!

Trust me you can't!, Most stuff has to be ordered from Germany at a big cost and the last time i rang the BMW garage in Colchester and told the bloke my car was a BMW 1602 he ask me what one of these was!, Even when i explaned he still didn't have a clue!.

Thank god that there's a speclaists in Norfolk which still stock OE parts for them!
