Hi all I have been restoring car for over 25 years now , I’m a mechanic to trade served my time with a Leyland garage then moved on to a ford dealership , to become a workshop foreman.

I’m still in the trade,(no longer at the ford garage) and still restoring cars, I must be mad, working on cars all day then coming home to work on cars at night! Had a big clear out last year . So can now start looking for my next project. Only going to do one car at a time from now on It will be a old FORD ??????????

Hi I would like to find a Escort Mk1 or Mk2 but they are expensive , also I would like to find a old 1948/1959 Ford Popular that would be good but I would have to change the brakes suspension engine and gearbox. The old side valve 1172cc engine was a bit under powered so that would end up more expensive than an Escort , The most modern car would be a Mk1 fiesta XR2. What will happen is a car will just turn up, I have only looked for a project once (a 1943 willys Jeep) and that turned in to a 3 year restoration , That was my most expensive restoration. One thing that I do know, I am not going to sell this one this will be a keeper.
