A line lock is for isolating the hydraulics in your braking system and holding the front brakes on for burn outs etc. (not much good on fwd cars obviously)

apply brakes, close line lock valve, release brakes. Front brakes are held on and rears released.

No you don't need one.

But what and why do you need a EDIS module.

the edis was used on cars that had carbs but no dizzy, they pick up a signal from the crank sensor and tell the coilpack when to fire each sparkplug, in osf terms theyre used with somthing like a megajolt ecu, the ecu in this case alllows you to fiddle with what the EDIS is telling the coilpack-thus giving you adjustment on the ignition timing

As above realy, EDIS stands for Electronic Distributorless Ignition System & was an almost stand alone system & a fooking good one to, "almost" because it does need that outside help like the mega jolt. It comes for 4/6 or 8 cylinder engines

got one on the 100e ... allows me to alter ignition timing. im using a DTA system from SBD Developments. Picks up when to fire the plugs from the crank sensor as mentioned

ive been thinking though,- if you used a trigger wheel mounted on the front pulley and made the mounting holes err e-longated then youd be able to adjust the timing that way-thus irradicating the need for an ecu?? just run the EDIS straight to the coilpack? no???
