w p e Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 well pip at least you can finish the lammy floor now i;ll get me coat
Pipster007 Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 It was the washing machine that caught light on the internal wiring, which in turn burnt the worktop and spread underneath to the adjoing cabinet and oven. It's a few years old now (certainly out of warranty) It could have been a lot worse if the house was empty or I had gone to bed, which I've done many times.....................Never again though Fortunately I have a lot of clean clothes which I had washed on Monday...................Except now, everything smells of smoke I may not be a fireman, but by god I can certainly smell like one now The assessors are coming out on Friday, hopefully they'll give the OK to get a washing machine and oven before xmas At least the clothes got dried while they were being washed. I'd say it was an efficient machine
Pipster007 Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 Did that pink jumper start the fire Don't mock the pink well pip at least you can finish the lammy floor now i;ll get me coat I may be able to get the other side of the kitchen lammy'd aswell if I can get new cabinets

4parajon Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 As has been said mate, that could have been so much worse, glad your ok. Makes you think tho, we are always running our machine either at night or before we go to work and leaving it on. Ive not heard of having to make sure your in/present with it on before either.

SmokeEm Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 Just think Pip - if you buy a cheap cooker n washing machine with the insurance payout, it might leave you enough dosh to buy that slipper
