Got some vouchers from Xmas and thinking of treating myself to a new games console

 

Just wanted peoples thoughts on the PS3 and the Xbox

 

also whats the big advantage with these different memory options?

 

Wont be mega use, mainly for FIFA10

Two big things that swayed me fpr the PS£3 were free online play and blu ray.

 

wouldn't swap now just waiting for GT5 to be released

It dont come with a HDMI cable, but there about £10 for a cheap one

 

And it does have USB's and you can get an adapter (not expencive) to use your ps2 controller, but the usb can also be used for a keyboard for mailing mates, or charging your ipod / whatever

 

The playstation also has wireless built into it, so no buying expencive adaptors,

 

The playstation hard drive is universal, and IF you fill the standard one, you can get a 500Gb one for about £45 (quick google)

 

You can use any bluetooth headset,

 

 

I just think its alot more grown up

Yes you can

PS3 has many advantages over xbox, although the only reason i would get an xbox is for forza, but may aswell wait for GT5

Yep! Gotta a PS3 and it's the nuts,

 

Another free app you can download is free music videos from loads of different artists, I think it's most of Sony's artists. It really is the biz, my bro in law is the manager of the local Game store and advised me to go for the PS3, also something that hasn't been mentioned is the red ring of death on the Xbox, I for one would, if I am paying out for a console at least want it to be reliable

as every1 has said its reliable adaptable an entertainment centre and its awsome i have a 60GB 1 that i bought august 2008 and have never had issues with it i have filled the hard drive so getting a 1tb external hard drive for 60 quid well worth it altho the new ps3 comes with 120gb 2 start which is ample space

A friend sold his 60GB one about a year ago with a few games for £500 just because it's a limited edition

There not just limited edition, they also have a card reader, more usb slots, chrome facia and other little bits, im also not sure if the 40/new ones can play ps2 games (dont let that put you off, you wont touch them again !!)

The more I research into it, it lookes like the PS3 is gonna be the winner

PS3 everyday of the week unless you need a new radiator at the same time as a games console that way you would have to get an xbox but you can only use it half the time because the other half it trys to kill itself

ive had both so i can say the ps3 is better in my opinion, had an xbox 360 for almost 2 years when it died, got a replacement sent to me, a few weeks later i traded it in when the new ps3 slim came out. and its so much better ive never looked back, stuff paying £30-40 a year for the privilege of playing online and lining microsofts pockets. ps3 all the way. plus if your mates have them you can download the content that they have payed for onto yours for free

Get the ps3. It's the better. And don't waste your money on the slim it's just a gimic. If you do get an xbox. Pm me as I have a friend who mods xbox's and will get you all games for free. I have both and play xbox more but only because all the games are free and I never go online

Just be warned, DONT go online if you have a chipped consoul !

 

me mate got found (tonnes have recently, MS put some software on COD mw2, it will pick up on the chip and notify microsoft (well thats what i was told, and seems viable as he was banned a day after he played CODmw2)

Speaking from 2 failed 360's both under 6months old i have had 2 ps3's now and no problems from either of them. so.... PS3

just run them where air circulates well and dont place them near a radiator and your laughin

I had to get a wii because my girlfriend wouldnt let me get a xbox or ps3 cos she wouldnt play on it! Oh well the wii is fun

 

Edit: Never played on the ps3 but my brother has had 2 xbox's die on him in 3 years

Well I went to Comet earlier and bought a PS3 slim with FIFA 10, the HDMI & optical cable,plus a three year warranty,

 

And the best part........... cost to me......NOWT

 

gotta love spending Xmas money and vouchers

 

Just had time before my little boy woke up to set it all up and get it connected to the internet and create a online ID

 

Not played it yet, will wait till he's gone to bed so no interuptions wanting Mickey Mouse :lol: :lol:
