Dave Sylvester Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 I have Just bought a Mk1 1979 Fiesta popular for £250, it has no rust, no scratches, but has had body work, so no paintjob, but it has brand new front wings. i have big plans for it such as a Red and Black Interiour and a Sunburst Red paintjob with blacked out windows and black rims. I would like to know what everyone else payed for their fiesta mk1's and what condition they were. This is my 1st car and i am so happy with it even though it is a tip currently. I want to hear some thoughts and views [/img]

GJUK Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 I have Just bought a Mk1 1979 Fiesta popular for £250, it has no rust, no scratches, but has had body work, so no paintjob, but it has brand new front wings. Sounds like a bargain. i have big plans for it such as a Red and Black Interiour and a Sunburst Red paintjob with blacked out windows and black rims. Sounds good. Some advice I wished someone had given me when I was younger would be to "try and keep it on the road" as a project. I would like to know what everyone else payed for their fiesta mk1's and what condition they were. I think you've done well, they go from £100 to £1,500 normally. This is my 1st car and i am so happy with it even though it is a tip currently. I want to hear some thoughts and views Good first car, keep te mods to a minimum to keep your insurance down. Make sure you tell your insurance company about ALL of the modifications. Jon
Daggle Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 P.S Oh and don't tint the front side windows, coz, even a light tint will probably make them illegal
baz105e Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 paid £70 for mine with t&t but it was fooked
Dave Sylvester Posted January 4, 2010 Author Report Posted January 4, 2010 only mods i will do is a 4 stroke manifold that my dad really 'has to have' on there. ill tint only back windows, i have bought a deep dish red and black steering wheel and im looking for some red and black bucket seats
moredoorAsh Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 I paid £160 for my first fiesta in 1995, and 4 years ago a bought 1 which needed outer sills and front wings for £135 but the with the price of osf's these days i think you've had a result

squadge78 Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 i paid £275 for mine, front wings were shot, the rear arches were scabby but it was very solid. please dont tint the windows, slam it with some nice 13's on it. this is mine now
Burns Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 paid £70 for mine with t&t but it was fooked quality motor that was until you stuck it in that wall...
birdy Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Sounds like you've got yourself a bagain , just don't get too carried away with it and keep the mods simple, sometimes less is more. slam it and put some nice rims on it.
Dave Sylvester Posted January 4, 2010 Author Report Posted January 4, 2010 Well i only want to make it look good and obv sound good too, so i wont do too much, so the mods should be little, but i deffinately need some new rims on it

Dave Sylvester Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 even if the beige one was rotten it still looks wicked nice i do like the xr2 though
Skoty Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 mk1 fiesta was my first car, cost me £190 with tax and MOT. but was a right rot box i put 2 front wings, new rear panel, 2 new sills, 2 quarter bottoms. the floor was mint tho . awesome little car. but i spent all that money on her then some old git took me out on a roundabout within half a year i think i had done about 9000miles in her in that time and i hadnt touched the engine. great fun. police dint like her tho coz she was flat black with a chequered bonnet with a near straight through side exit exhaust.
