rscapriman Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 Hi everyone, thought I'd post a few pics of my RS2600, bought the car back in July 1998 with just 39,000 on the clock ran it for a couple of months then stripped it and restored it to Concours. I showed the car in 1999 and 2000 only use it on rare occasions now speedo now reads approx 41,000. cheers RScapriman. these first 2 pics are as I first saw her these 2 are after the wife and I spent a week cleaning her up,What a difference. and these 2 were taken by Classic Ford in 1998 just before I took her off the road.

I think it was at a CCI show at Eavesham in about 1995, I still had that car until about 3 years ago and wish I'd never sold it! Tailpipe fitted fine, so a belated thankyou!

I originally planned to do it as an RS3100 replica, but I like the vinyl roof and chrome grill so kept it as a GXL, besides they're pretty rare in their own right. Wish I hadn't sold it There's a few more pics of it here http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... highlight=
rscapriman Posted January 3, 2007 Author Report Posted January 3, 2007 was that model avalible here were thay all lefties mint car love the colour Hi Dave, all were LHD except 2 that Ford themselves converted for 2 of their main men, the colour is Monza/Electric blue code "U" non standard blue according to Ford Parts Book, the only Capri's I have seen painted this colour are RS2600's. cheers RScapriman.

Also something about your old GXL has confused me! how did it become "K" registered as the facelift capri was introduced in Sep 1972 a month after the Registration changed from "K" to "L" Reg on the 1st Aug! Any ideas !!! Cheers RScapriman. P.S. enjoyed reading about your Capri exploits.
