Billy_smith Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 £450!! plus Vat is this a bit steep? wot does everyone else run im using a ashley at the moment but want a better one
petrolhead Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 That is the most expensive I have ever heard of, but they are supposed to be the daddy. But bear in mind they are built for massive spec engines and would probably perform poorly on a mildy modified xflow. Neil at 105speed does beautiful stainless steel items. I made my own manifold and exhaust, see the two links in the 'How to Guides'.
5hane Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 "105speed" being 105speed there really smart, and what ill proably be going for, do mass still do manifolds then ? got any pic's?
Toby Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 If the new mass ones have proper "merge collectors" then they perhaps warrant the extra expense - see link for photo of merge collector. http://www.burnsstainless.com/mergecollectorsmain.aspx Lots of exhausts have a "box" that the 4 pipes collect into. The engine see's a stronger signal from a merge collector - at least, that's theory anyway!
Fiesta Steve Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 I had my manifold made by Powerspeed Manifolds, they made merge collectors as shown in the link above, they can replicate a mass manifold if you wish. Price is approx £250+vat. Don't forget that price is fitted so you do nothing, unlike others that land on your door step then you spend the rest of the weekend skining your nuckles in the freezing cold Here's a random pic of what looks like a crossflow manifold taken from there website; www.powerspeed.co.uk
Billy_smith Posted January 29, 2010 Author Report Posted January 29, 2010 cheers gents anyone got a picture of a 105 speed one? please lol
Toby Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 They look very nice and reasonably priced It looks a bit like the 105-speed one. That's not a merge collector though but I see some on the sight that are.

I know the one in the picture is not but I specified one on mine including exact lenghts and diameters of the pipe, most of which they disagreed with but as they say the customer is always right !
harris horse power Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 id say its worth it , i give £400 for my maniflow manifold
Fiesta Steve Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 id say its worth it , i give £400 for my maniflow manifold Is it stainless ?
meXEco Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 1-0-5-speed all day long-big bunch of bananas in stainless with lifetime guarantee-all for about £250-they also do a rather nice matching 2" system that fits exactly where it should so no 6 hours making the damn things fit unlike others.

w p e Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Wayne, Is that the place where Brian Feast worked? he's my mates old man could be. daves side kick was a bit of a biker looking chap. he might have stayed with the new owner when dave sold up. not sure what went wrong its a shame it went tits up
Tom Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 you mean a big fat bloke? sounds like him He doesn't work there now, i think they had a bit of a falling out - about a month before he was gonna make me a manifold and system!!!

sitting_budda Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 For some reason photobucket is being crappy and wont link images correctly. Heres a link http://s73.photobucket.com/albums/i226/sittingbudda/BGT631H%20-%20New%20bits%20and%20work%20done/105Speed%20Piper%20SS%20Exhaust/ If you have you battery tray under the bonnet youll either have to move the battery to the boot, or modify it like i did See above link for step by step photos

Thats a lot of work just to fit a manifold Is that the 105speed manifold, isn't it originally designed to fit the Anglia ? Does look good though nice one
Ken B Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 105.Speed do two manifolds for the Escort, a Mass Style one, which doesnt fit with the battery tray, but then neither would a genuine Mass one, and one designed to fit cars with a battery tray. Both are specifically designed to fit the escort. The new Mass ones are being made by Tony Law apparently'.
Sheepy Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 do you know if they make them for a L.H.D. mk2 crossflow?
