  1. That's tidy Ross, looks similar to mine but with no shiny bits! Mine needs a little bit of elbow grease on it,
  2. Is it not possible (with a bit of modification) to modify them from pins to bolt on, I know it means cutting off the old ones, it will make removing the doors so easy in the future,
  3. That's a nice looking estate vista!
  4. Mines a 1980 mk2 van, and the hinges are bolted on (better idea in my opinion) Don't know about the inside panels!
  5. Surrey 100e, that's a nice looking crossflow what's going in there now? Oldskool, I agree with the others, it's a nice clean, uncluttered bay, Mk2sax, thanks, my sides are hurting from laughing so much, nice motor! Iancmp, hey don't knock your bay, it's nice to also see such a good original one, you should be proud of that bay. My bay in the van is nothing special yet!!!
  6. sorry this is a long one! Here in belgium you have to test your vehicle if you sell it (that test lasts for 3 months) then you have to renew again if not sold, and so on. the new owner then has to test it again (that lasts a year & must be renewed yearly) for his ownership. old timers ("classic cars") if its a car, then its 25 years old, if its light comercial (van, pick up etc) then its 30 years old, you can take them for a normal "mot" and need it every year, anhave no restrictions, but if you go for an old timer "o" plate, then its 1 test, thats it, but no driving at night, your limited to a 25 mile radious, unless its for a pre arranged event. but i've seen some old timers come in to work that are only fit for scrap. the test stations are a huge drive through affair, and in my experiance, because they are private they do it for the money, we take cars/trucks all time and from one test to next there does'nt seem to be the same testing, unlike u.k have the guideline from the testers manual, so normally "all" testers follow the same tests. and for trucks, if you go for test and fail on certain safety things, i.e brakes, you fix them and once re tested, it only lasts for 6 months, if you fail the re-test again, fix them, then pass, it goes down to 3 months! (its just a money making system)
  7. Volvo! electric vac pump. fitted one to my mates suzuki 4x4 diesel a few weeks ago! but you will need a vacuum presure switch, or the pump will run all time, or just when you brake, depending on how you wire it!
  8. i wonder who first thought "ah, lets hang some furry dice on my mirror" my best mate has some, they were white when new, now there nearly pink, with age, he's had them for 15 years, i allways used to take the pee, but now i think there great!

  12. i would jet wash it first, (hot wash) it will get all the oil and grease of, and wont send you high with the fumes of petrol! (or perhaps you'd like that) but what is your plan, just to clean it up, or re paint it, if its to re paint it, its worth while shot blasting it!
  13. Hey lurch, i like the vid, it looks good with the back end out and on full lock, whats the chassis/base model? Bortaf, that sounds interesting, you have any pictures! i was thinking, at school we used to make plastic vacuum formed things, so i wonder how difficult it would be to make a essy shell?

  18. Hey gjuk, if you do decide to come over, pop round to say hi, have a drink, "historic garage" we will be there for assistance for a few cars. the yellow mk1 "54" is one of ours! this was taken before it hit a tree! i've repaired it now, new wing, front panel.
  19. if they want it, they'll take it, wont matter what you do. when i lived in uk, there was a guy in my village who had a really nice gsxr1100 bike, it was locked in the garage, and blocked in with a car. they broke in, moved the car, took the bike, then spotted the kids qud so took that as well. no one saw or heard a thing! another thing with alarms, years ago when you heard one, you used to look outside see who or what it is, but now too many people just think, another bloody alarm going off. i cant remember the make, but there is one alarm that calls your mobile to alert you if its going off! (obviously no good if you miles away, will make you even more gutted)
