Mrs O/H/C Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 If you are a member of a local leisure center do you pay a membership fee and if so is it worth it rather than pay each time you visit ? Please discuss .............
m1c Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 depends how often you go.... i get discounted membership thru work but as i only go swimming every now an then id rather pay each time. from what i found out tho is your not tied into a 12 month contract with all gyms so if you wanted to go for 3 months just to loose a bit of weight/get fit for holiday etc and plan to go a few times a week then its definantly worth paying a monthly fee. another plus side is that the fee covers most things so can swimming, gym etc all in one day if you wanted whereas if would cost a small fortune if paying for em all seperatly.
Col-ashtonmobile Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 i just pay as i go cos i finish work at all different hours , so it suits me to not be be tied to a contract
Mrs O/H/C Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 Just trying to work out the cheaper way of doing it
Trevmk3 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 it depends if you are going to stick at it, i would probably go for a few sessions and see how you go and if you get into it and think you will go enough times in the year then get a membership ive never been to the gym so dont take my word as the one to believe but its what i would do
m1c Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Just trying to work out the cheaper way of doing it jog every morning and do lots of situps, all for freeeee
banarama Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 pay as you go is the better option .
evil knievel Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 It's a 5er every time you go to mine... I used to go 4 times a week (getting back to it now). The membership is £28 quid a month. Am I saving money?? Hell yeah
caprinerd Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 i go for a 5 mile run in the mornings so thats my exercise did do 10 but the cold gets on my lungs to much now
sampedlar06 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 My local is like £8.50 a time just for the gym I was paying £40 a month to use everything. Speak 2 someone at reception they might be able to do some sort of deal like a monthly payment only for the gym but not the swimming pool. I have now cancled my membership because my girlfriend works at a esporta (posh gym) and I get in for free when the boss isn't working yay!!!
banarama Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 5 mile run in the morning i couldnt do half a mile
