Good effort getting them in  If your using a high ratio rocker your not going to want much cam lift.

Possibly true, but doesn't resolve whether there is a requirement for +50 posts or not....

Some measuring will be required me thinks

ok, i can measure the head now. But the blocks in the garage so ill have to dig that out tommorow

2 secs :)

was thinking of going for a kent 254 cam, do you think a 244 would be better then ??

wouldnt that give a better tickover aswell??

With out looking up the spec and doing some maths I think those cams will provide way too much lift with h/r rockers.

I suppose it is possible that whoever designed the rocker box included some extra height. Have you checked? Never assume - something about making an ASS out of U and ME spings to mind! Old colledge lecturer's favourite.....

You'll need to put it all together to see if you are achieving the cam's stated lift.

What ratio rockers have you got? 1.69? I think you'll need to speak to Kent Cams or someone with experience of high lift rockers to help you with your cam choice. On paper they are a great idea, but you may need an expensive one off grind, possibly with the LCA spread to avoid too much overlap - something that will definately affect your tick over and the overall "caminess"

the rocker box is 26.35mm(1.037 inch) from the bottom of the posts to as near to the center i can get ( not easy to measure tbh)

Sorry mate, I don't know what the std height is....

And what about those other posts you had?

measured the steel posts same as the rocker box and they measure 26.95mm to the center of the shaft :D:beer:
