my whole life revolve's around motocross both my daughters race .

as to your question KTM shitty steering lock and to tall for shorter riders.

suzuki RM made of tin run well when new then fall apart fast. this my opinion only being thatr i own 5 honda CR's tell you my choice. honda engines are bullit proof along with the rest of the bike my opinion only again. dont want to upset certain people do we . this might help mine is a cr 250 2 stroke fully tuned with all the right bits daughters ride cr80 smallwheel/cr85 bigwheel/ now going onto cr125 more money

cr's and yz's....gotta be 2 stroke for the sound!!!!! 4 stroke just sound wrong to us oldies! (and smell wrong too)

Out of the two, it would be the KTM, my lad raced schoolboy scramble for 5 years, got the best use from the Kwacker's, agree about the 2 strokes, they sound and smell "propper"

Me and me brother race , when we wanted bikes we asked about and the advice we got was pick a colour, each make have there good points and bad points tbh, i ride a ktm 125sx and my brother has a kawasaki 125kx, both go fatser than either of us can make them go .

I've had a RM250 and a CR250 both 2 strokes, and the CR was by far the better the better bike in my opinion.

 

I also did a motor cross day with the yamaha race school http://www.yamaha-schools.co.uk/ and they used 250 4 strokes, they really surprised me also.

2 stroke moto x engines are really highly strung bits of kit if you want something to cock about on and then put in the shed for 6 months till the mood takes you again then i'd reccomend a 4 stroke
