i thought a trailered car had to have plates taped to show thats not the reg of the towing car?

 

i have seen cars leaving ford fair with them taped over and at other shows

No they down want there cars cloned !

By cloned i also mean stealing id ,for trips into congestion charge zone ,parking fines and speeding tickets etc

hi guys ,was all above board so i hear .a close friend was offered this car just two days ago he wanted it but couldnt raise funds quickly enough so let it go , since found out the car was originally a lotus an the new owner is changeing it back to its former glory.happy days.

You cover the plates so the ANPR camers dont pick it up and send out a fine, anyone who moves cars for a living will tell you the same

covering it up to stop cloning ?? what you gonna do when you drive it? cover em up then as well

Most recovery guys just stick some gaffa tape through the middle of the plate, does the same thing IE stops the ANPR camera loging the plate, been pulled a few times cos i forgot to cover plates of untaxed cars by mobile ANPR units who thought my truck was untaxed

Nowt wrong with the straps there's 2 1 each side they are just double stroped, usually it's 1 strop per strap but doubles are fine but can catch the body which is why i use 4 single strops per car

Agree with bortaf and others that say it's standard practice to cover plates on a trailer or truck, those ANPR cameras won't make any special case for it not being driven, only the reg was 'seen' on the road, and issue a fine. As for cloning, if the car isn't being driven, why make it easy for the scrotes? I don't like my plates going out on the internet, and so far have managed to avoid them even going on camera!
