If money isnt an object, go N/A mate. Quicker 0-60, better noise and they look the tits too. In my opinion, it is only woth going N/A YB if you get a really good build. High comp and 220bhp etc

But, fitting a YB turbo is alot cheaper! and still fooking awesome!

It's just the noise that puts me off, it doesnt suit a mk1 escort!

Alot of people do mate.

MK1 Gaz is running an english and he has alot of power! If you keep to 6j wheels and tyres, you should be fine mate.

You dont need a T5 for atmo use mate.

Just a strong rocket or Type 9 will be fine.

I used a BGH type 9 with my last N/A YB and it was fine. Also used a quaife 4 speed which is more than man enough.

A standard type 9 wont last very long though mate so get a gear set fitted or buy a complete box.

Yeah, an english with decent box and small, skinny tyres will all be ok. the torque that the N/A cossie will be making wont be ott, about 185lbft for a decent one. Not exactly turbo league!

Mines Atmo, 2.4 with 12:1 comp, 260 bhp 244 torque without the Nos, T5 box, Tina 2.3 axle with Capper slipper diff and Fostec half shafts, have had to beef it up a bit running the Nos this year....
