I give up.

Appologies to any OldSkoolFord members i may have offended, or who feel i only joined to cause trouble, this was not my intent, my intent was to get my point across that at an ALL ford meet, your attendance should be appreciated regrdless of what you drive, and you should be open minded as to what cars will be there, not be 'gutted' that cars you are not a fan of, are taking up space that cars you do like could use.

Ill now return to my boring, mundane car forum, and try to find a sense of humour.

Best Wishes For The Future

i can see this post getting locked

as andy put it its his call so nowt we can do

i would prefer to see a bigger venue so that it can stay as a all ford meet, but i wouldnt know where to start to organise one, i just like attending,i couldnt do with the hassle of organising a meetlol

i really dont think slagging each others cars off is the way to solve this :ykt:

as i stated earlier i enjoyed the meet and i cant say i saw a ford ther that i disliked

agree, arguing isnt going to do any good, its not new V old, its the fact the meet is now too big, and Andy wants to go back to a smaller easier to organise meet.

I like all fords, I have owned a mid 90s escort and a m o n d e o

not sure, maybe its bit far out, the really good thing about scotch was it was right off the side of the A1, so no matter where you come from its right off the motorway

I'd like pickering, its a great run out from leeds, scotch for me is 5 mins of local roads then an hour on the a1

Well fook me, :beat:

arguin bout cars on a car forum, set o bastads, oooffff.

Andy you will have to do seperate meets now, unless ya get a boxing ring :mrgreen::mrgreen:

Firstly i dont give a cak what car ya drive, :D

i dont care how long it took to get there, if ya drove ya should of got in,

so it is obviously necessary to split the meets, an jus av a couple of multi ford meets,

maybe every three mths, attendance numbers for the larger meets reckoned up at the smaller meets of both types

an that way the three multi meets ya can keep away from if ya dont like "the other type of ford" :shit:

Andy, obviously this is more work for the organisers, so we go wiv ya decision whichever it is.

we have this after every ford fair, but usually stays on site, :dope:

This is really cwiss`s point bud, not on the telly anymore, are they really. an to say he was angry bout the day, cwiss is a tw@:upyours: but he certainly isnt an angry tw@ in anyway, an he has said this on a site which is dedicated to what he drives, and supports the views of the site really, no mk 3 essy`s cossy`s rst`s plastic not so fantastic,

fink ya should of left what was said on here, on here imo.

I have read the entire thread that you, as staff have put up, firstly entitled, we were not welcome,

no one said that, no one has said it since, another of your members says why should we move our cars, no one asked you to, did they, no one has said it since,

And then said as staff you have to watch your words, why,,,, what did you want to say on here that could have been so bad , something about capri`s granada`s or escorts on a forum dedicated to these cars,

You joined jus to see this thread,

It seems to me that YOU have infuriated your members,,,, by posting your views,,, on your site copied from an old skool ford site.

And thus leading them to believe that there cars are cack, they should have been moved, and they were not welcome, NO ONE said that at all.

How have i infuriated my members, its not like ive said anything he didnt say, hence the copying and pasting as to not misslead. he said the m o n d e o's and fiesta's were taking up space that could have been used by more 'interesting' metal, so does that not mean that in his opinion, the space could have been put to better use, hence, us not being in that space, hence, us being somewhere else, hence, us being moved. i copied and pasted word for word what he said, i didnt add to it, so what my members have said in reply, is what the feel based on what he said. maybe the thread title was a bit missleading, ill give you that one, i probs could/should have used a more suitable one, but in the thread, ive put no word in anyones mouth.

Look at this way, would you guys on here not feel the same way if one of our members had said for instance, 'there was loads of capri's, they should'nt have had so many, that would have left more space for other, more interesting cars to get in', i have a feeling that the capri owners would think 'cheeky sods, we have as much rite to be there as anyone else' which i would totally agree with.

We are all car enthusiasts, all love our cars, put a lot of time, money, and passion into them, so if someone says there not very interesting, and in a round about way, were taking up space that could have been put to better use, especially at an ALL ford meet, im sure you can see why it would get my feathers up, and my fellow SMF members. i could sort of see the point if they were all rusty old sheds, but bar two cars, out of the thirteen on our stand, all were ST models, and the two that were not ST models, were nice MK3's.

As for me stating i said i chose my words carefully, i did, i dont want to go running my mouth, offending or dissrespecting anyone, and later regretting it due to me being wound up at the time. we can all say things we dont actually mean when wound up, and that can just throw fuel on the fire, which im not trying to do, as ive stated a million times now, my intent is to state that at an ALL ford meet, no one car is more important than another, and no car should take preference over another, wether its one year old, or forty years old, worth £250 or £25k, or has 50 BHP OR 500 BHP. an ALL ford meet is an ALL ford meet, for anything with a blue oval badge, ALL welcome, non taking up space, and even if you dont like a certain model, respect the fact that it has as much rite to be there as yours or anyone elses car.

Well, I will begin by saying I feel this is a necessary decision due to the volume of cars which turned out at the March Meet. I would have been upset if I had travelled from somewhere just to be turned away, and on that basis alone I feel a split is necessary.

I have read a few posts on a variety of forums where members have been winging about there being "too much plastic", but let's remember, the meeting was an "All Ford" meeting meaning you can bring your 2010 Focus RS500, or you can bring your 1940 Ford Mercury.

Personally I liked being able to admire the old classics and see them side by side with the new high technology motors of today.

The March meeting was the first meeting which I have ever attended in my 1977 Fiesta. I enjoyed the atmosphere and even though a lot of people had "plastics" they were still as interesting to talk to as those with the "classics".

It would be a shame to loose all these "new & old" meetings all together, but at the end of the day needs must. We can't expect people to travel 100+ miles to a show just to be turned away due to lack of room.

And at the end of the day, if you have a classic Ford and want to go have a look at the new Ford's then you can quite happily park up somewhere and have a look around

I have lost where I am now in this post so I will wrap it up! Split meetings = more room + less disappointment.

Dan.

P.S. I have tried to keep this as neutral as possible

what i posted was appropriate to this site, and was a joke with another user on here, was nothing to do with you or any mondeo owner until you made it your buisness and made a big deal out of it :ykt:

finished

hmmmmmmm, i think this is a good time to find out what people on here think about plastic not fantastic (you know my views on it, every year after classic ford and ford fair i fall out with people on here)

I had a mk3 escort, 1982 xr model.................not allowed on here  now i have a mk2 transit camper, 1984 but classed as old skool  how can that be if its newer than a mk3 escort.

at the end of the day, its what i want to drive that counts, never been a sheep and never will be. Had more fords from pops to cortinas, mk5 escorts to sierras than a lot of folk on here but still look at most fords at the shows (if i like them i look, if not i walk past)
