jimbo Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 With summer weather approaching (hopefully), I'm thinking about the potential for overheating, especially if I'm going to venture to a few shows this years (queues ). What budget leccy fan options have people gone for on their cars? I think I might be better off getting a decent fan cheaply (i.e. getting a second hand Kenlowe from a scrapper), rather than gat a "cheap" fan (e-bay), What cars should I go looking for at the breakers? Oh yeah, It's to go on my Mk1 Capri, fiteed with pinto and standard radiator (not a big header). All thoughts welcomed and appreciated...

Admin Vista Posted April 11, 2010 Admin Report Posted April 11, 2010 My fan keeps blowing fuses so I guess I better replace it before the weather gets any warmer (note my optimism there?) Those of you that have sourced fans from miscellaneous vehicles, how do you mount them? I've seen those straps that you put through the fins but I don't much like the look of them, anyone used them?

bortaf Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 This is how i did it if it's any help ? R5 turbo/granada Mk2 A/C fan, top mount hooks over the header tank lip, bottom 2 bolted to a strip then the strip is bolted to the 2 lower rad mount bolts, not sure if this will work on an escort ? Run off a pacet fan switch housing through a granada loom and realay
