Eh? How can you be banned for driving (something you need a licence for) because you were driving something else (you don't need a license for)? Fair enough he was pissed but he's hardly likely to cause mayhem on that is he?

A few years ago a mate of mine who is a self employed painter n decorator got an 18 month ban for a very similar thing.......it was christmas day and he had got his nipper an electric motorbike so after a session at the pub till dinner , after dinner took his nipper n leccy bike to wasteland behind his house .........along comes Mr Policeman and well after my mate thought he was joking ended up with the 18 mth ban......

Probably not, also the Police don't make up the laws, they just enforce it...

I do realise that Daggle, and not having a go at all police it's just that I can't see how a prosecution could help the public at large. The guy on the Barby car was doing walking speed in the early hours. No damage done and nobody hurt. Just telling him to get off and go home (a few yards, they could have watched him) would have been better in my eyes, and far cheaper for not involving the courts.

That, and the other bans mentioned, have got to be the most stupid convictions ever. Will kids now be prosecuted for no insurance, no mot etc..., when they are seen riding/driving similar "motor vehyicles"?

what a criminal waste of tax payers money, this is typical of the lack of common sense thats sadly exhibited by most of the force these days progressivly undermining the common working man's view of law and order enforcement.

 

they do say you dont join the police because your bright...and this proves that beyond all doubt.
