Really hacked off.

Me and the missus have been staying at my (wonderful) parents house since December last year whilst we save up for a house.

In April the perfect house came along and we have been proceeding on it since and i have been planning what i can do with my car in the garage and was planning to get her running this summer so i dont miss out another fooking season.

Then my girlfriend gets an email at work (she's an estate agent too) saying that we have been 'outbid' on the house from a cash buyer and the vendor is going ahead with this offer.

THIS SUCKS!!! The day before we signed our life away with a mortgage only to find this out!

Luckily, the mortgage we got didnt have a £800 arrangement fee so we didnt lose out!

The agent handling the property had negotiated the deal without us knowing and if my good doris wasnt at work we would still be none the wiser.

To top it off, we havent even been given the opportunity to up our offer on it so this tells me that there is a dodgy deal going on.

Mother funkers. If i had lost the £800 fee onthe mortgage, i no doubt would have paid the agent a visit and punched his fooking lights out.

I'm just so fooked off now. Who knows how long it'll be till we find another house, especially one that we loved as much as this one

The garage was large enough to work all round the car without pulling it out, so working on it in all weathers was just perfect. We'll never find a house in our budget where i can do that.

GUTTED.

Rant over.

Not illegal here Wayne.

in Scotland they have laws against this but not here :(

When the house is under offer, it states "subject to contracts". this means that its not your house until the contracts have 'exchanged'.

Bastards.

me and the wife missed out on what i thought was our perfect house a few years back, I was gutted and never thought we would ever get moved, then one came up needed some work but bigger and better layout and nice garden garage etc,

chin up mate something will come along and hopefully will be as good, if not better

Although I think you'd be wrong to do this if they've not messed you around (after all, I would want to sell my house to the highest bidder/those who can complete quickly...Out bid them mate if they've fooked your around.

Then, pull out :P

Thought about this mate. Might well be doing it.

We can complete in the same time as the cash buyer as we are half way there now.

its even more annoying as it is the 3rd house we have loved but something, one way or another is stopping us from getting them.

1st time ~ dodgy dealings with the agent and a developer. got the house for a bargain price (from a little old lady) and put it back on the market a few months later for around 35K more.

2nd time ~ was gunning for a house but it turned out we couldnt buy it because my girlfriend works for the company that had it on for sale (re-posession).

and now this.

I don't think people should muck people around when buying a house, if someone agree's something then (as with anything in this life), unless theres a King good reason, they should do what they've agreed.

If you feel strongly that they've really mucked you about and have the time an energy. I would contact the estate agent, up your offer, turn into a cash buyer (say your parents have just lent you the cash) and then just stall...

Maybe that other cash buyer will get bored of waiting and you might get the house?

I know its hard to think like this but. There are other houses out there. If you don't get this then it's meant to be, something better will turn up I'm sure of it.

Take care!

Cheers guys, people say things happen for a reason...............

yeah, the reason being some fooker offered more money!

The house was a little gem, just about in our price range and in the area we want. The garage was near perfect and in my mind, we were in.

Bang goes me having a car for the summer. Now i have to find somewhere to store it too as my brother needs his garage back.

Things really SUCK at the moment.

I just looked at renting.......... fooking hell, the prices are unbelievable too.

To rent something near what we need, it'll cost us bloody £900 plus a month.

And we have a dog so most places wont take us.

We just need a fookng break!!

Buyers can also jerk you around when selling your house too remember....

At least it gives you a little more time to save a few more pennies and with this current government/economic shite happening, it wouldn't surprise me if house prices starting falling again, sure as hell the pound is fooked at the moment...I would hold out for a couple of months if i am being honest..

try not to rent mate,

your just paying someone elses mortgage then.

chin up and just start having alook and you might find something even better.

i always had that view aswell . Now i'm in the process of selling my house and having to return to the parents for a while , rental looks like the only option . Mortgage companies are asking for 15k deposit on a 90k house , now might not be a lot to some people but i haven't got 15k to put down on a house , so rental is going to be my only option :(

This situation sucks.

We are thinking of giving up work, having 3 kids and then we'll get a free house! what you reckon? Good idea?

Ah, well, the battle isnt over but i'm not holding my breath.

Just need to face the fact that my car will be off the road for many more months.

Tis true though, as long as my parents can put up with us, we are still saving more money each month.

The only good thing about renting is that we can get a place and move on with our lives as we are just in a limbo at the moment.

I'm gonna have a few choice words when the new owner moves in.

I just brought a two bedroom house with a garage, its brand new which I was never keen on but cos it was new I got on the 'moat' scheme i think other areas have their own schemes, it works out I had a morguage of 75% of the property value and the developer and the govenment pay the other 25% which has to be payed back or rearraged after 5 years but 25% of the current property value after 5 years. Now that is a lump of money but you can remorguage or like me put a bit extra aside each month and pay a lump off.

In the end the payments broke down as so....

The propert was sold for £129,950

Deposit was £4600

Reservation fee was £500 but that got taken of the price

Morguage arrangement was about £300

And solictors where £900

And plus with a new build it came with all white goods too.

Not bad mate!

Where i am £130,000 wont get you a house with a garage though.

we need a garden for our dog too.

We are looking at monthly payments on the mortgage of £1000.

Its pathetic really, just to have a half decent house you need to be fooking loaded round my way.

Yer see I aint got a garden its like a coach house with my garage under it with a utility room off it and the rest is all on one floor, we now pay about £500 a month iv seen then for rent at £650

You boys wanna think yerself lucky. In Aldershot, my £900 rents me a 3 bed semi with no garden nor garage!

If I was buying, start talking at 250k for a house with a usuable garage

I cant believe it (again!)

when we lost the house, my girlfriend wrote an email to the estate agent dealing with the purchase and asked it to be passed onto the vendor.

Basically it was a sob story about us living in temporay accomodation etc and we had our hearts set on this house.

the seller read it and changed her mind! UNREAL!! We didn't expect that in a million years!

So chuffed and it looks like i might have a car for the summer season after all! (albeit no cash for petrol!)

Just go to show, dont give up and that people can be decent sometimes.

For the record, the vendor is a minor celebrity, she was one of the Gladiators in the original series.

:thumbsup::D:D:D:D:D:D
