tim Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 this is somthing thats been on my mind for a while and ford fair last week made me think about it more. is there room and the want with in the ford scene for a big classic ford show, orginized by the clubs for the clubs. there doesnt seem to be any show that all the major clubs attend togther on mass
Lardy Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 the classic ford show does a good effort I think
garyv6100e Posted August 15, 2010 Report Posted August 15, 2010 would be a good idea but trying to get all the clubs (osf avo rs seoc buy sell cortina 105_speed turbo sport etc) to agree a date , venue , format etc would be difficult . at least with the classic ford show the clubs are told this is the venue date etc and if you don like it , tuff
Darran Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 I have always throught there is gap for a london based show
trakevlyn Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 I have always throught there is gap for a london based show I agree it would be nice to have a show in the south
joe1600 Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 Up north would be good too, nowt ever happens up here
antz Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 I have always throught there is gap for a london based show I agree it would be nice to have a show in the south what about everyone in the north where its already a 4 hour drive each way to get there? (and im not as far north as some) personally i think a more central event in the country would be better so everyone travels the same distance from those down south to those in scotland.
Admin Vista Posted August 16, 2010 Admin Report Posted August 16, 2010 Well I think an event in the South West is the best way to go
mk2 matt Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 I'm with vista, everything is miles away from us
GT_lenny Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 despite being northern i have to agree a south west weekender like the "run to the sun" in the volkswagen world or the riviera run in the mini scene travelge campsite host them 2 i think?
brettp Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 a classic ford show at a track would be the nuts cf at the pod is about the best show of th year imagine how good that would be at a circuit to get the numbers you could always invite the old yanks falcons mustangs etc would make for some great photos on track with the brit tin
dannysmk1 Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 I have always throught there is gap for a london based show I agree it would be nice to have a show in the south south sounds gd to me
GT_lenny Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 a track hosted show gets my vote i always enjoy RS national day @ donnington - and its a nice central location- plus it'll probably be up for a new show to add to their calender with all the goings on theres been there the last 12 months or so
RossMK2 Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 i think a cf show tour is the way forward everyones a winner

Im glad i live in the middle
PIG Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 there needs to be a classicford type event at a circuit, the rsoc do one or did at croft over 2 days and always seems well attended.brands/combe/oulton pk etc can all cater for camping well they do for the touring cars and bsb. classicford is a decent show but santapod is a shithole imo and from my point of view drag racing is boring.i know a lot of the guys on here do drag racing and im not putting those down as they spend alot of money trying to get faster (as we all seem to do lol).but ive said on other forums the static show is King finished and tours/trackdays have been the stand out events throughout this and last year again only imo

YOUNGY Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 i think an event on the field round the corner from me would be nice
deltamal Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 Well I think an event in the South West is the best way to go
tim Posted August 16, 2010 Author Report Posted August 16, 2010 its good to read all the different ideas. would of thought a good place for a london show would be crystal palace
Yeomans22 Posted August 16, 2010 Report Posted August 16, 2010 an event somewhere central with good motorway links would be good, and a cheap show like £5 per car, after all without us turning up to shows there wouldn't be a show, paying £12 per person and having to drive for hours is a pain.
