this is somthing thats been on my mind for a while and ford fair last week made me think about it more.

is there room and the want with in the ford scene for a big classic ford show, orginized by the clubs for the clubs.

there doesnt seem to be any show that all the major clubs attend togther on mass

would be a good idea but trying to get all the clubs (osf avo rs seoc buy sell cortina 105_speed turbo sport etc) to agree a date , venue , format etc would be difficult . at least with the classic ford show the clubs are told this is the venue date etc and if you don like it , tuff

I have always throught there is gap for a london based show

I agree it would be nice to have a show in the south

what about everyone in the north where its already a 4 hour drive each way to get there? (and im not as far north as some)

personally i think a more central event in the country would be better so everyone travels the same distance from those down south to those in scotland.

despite being northern i have to agree a south west weekender like the "run to the sun" in the volkswagen world or the riviera run in the mini scene

travelge campsite host them 2 i think?

a classic ford show at a track would be the nuts cf at the pod is about the best show of th year imagine how good that would be at a circuit to get the numbers you could always invite the old yanks falcons mustangs etc would make for some great photos on track with the brit tin

a track hosted show gets my vote i always enjoy RS national day @ donnington - and its a nice central location- plus it'll probably be up for a new show to add to their calender with all the goings on theres been there the last 12 months or so

there needs to be a classicford type event at a circuit, the rsoc do one or did at croft over 2 days and always seems well attended.brands/combe/oulton pk etc can all cater for camping well they do for the touring cars and bsb.

classicford is a decent show but santapod is a shithole imo and from my point of view drag racing is boring.i know a lot of the guys on here do drag racing and im not putting those down as they spend alot of money trying to get faster (as we all seem to do lol).but ive said on other forums the static show is King finished and tours/trackdays have been the stand out events throughout this and last year again only imo

I am in agreement here i love classic ford show at santa pod but ive only been down the strip twice once at cf and once at retro show in an Opel so been there got the t shirt kind of thing these kind of shows are brilliant with camping and entertainment, i have not been to a static show for years as i find them boring (with the exception of blackpool ford day but after a quick look i am off to pleasure beach anyway) Had my first track session at ford fair this year and loved it id defo do it again so i am more in favour of a track based show than drag based show thats my opinion but id never miss classic ford show though its a must, but ford fair theres to much plastic so apart from track action id give it a miss

its good to read all the different ideas.

would of thought a good place for a london show would be crystal palace

an event somewhere central with good motorway links would be good, and a cheap show like £5 per car, after all without us turning up to shows there wouldn't be a show, paying £12 per person and having to drive for hours is a pain.
