PlopPlop Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Hi, I know a mini wiper motor on a 100e is common but I dont seem to have enough throw to wipe enough screen, if that makes sense to anyone is there a way to solve it?
2litreScapri Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Just a thought, but maybe try to adapt a single wiper to fit? Wouldn't have a clue what one would work, if any. I have no idea, but maybe it's not possible due to the wiper arm hitting bodykit on its cycle? single wiper would look smart
PlopPlop Posted September 15, 2010 Author Report Posted September 15, 2010 I thought about the single wiper, but due to size and shape of the screen you need a small wiper and wont cover enough screen for me, I can adjust my wipers so they clear my view but they then dont park anywhere near, and when I adjust them to park correctly they dont swing enough to clear my view, the only idea I can think of is to get the opposite side wipers (if any) and have them park on the drivers side, then its only the pass. side that does'nt get fully wiped, but I can live with that, but then again I'm not sure if I'd like em on the driver side cos theyd probably bug me being right in my view, any 100e owners with the same problem? or better still a solution?
ExotronGammaPlusSequencer Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 You can get different gear wheels from mini spares to give more sweep. I just mount the mini wiper motor on the large column support & run the flexi cable over to the passenger side. This means they park on the drivers side. I used LHD mini wiper arms which are available cheap on ebay. Done this on both of mine & never really noticed them obscuring my view.

Cheers mate, thats just what I needed to hear
285Andy Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 if your mini wiper motor parks the wipers on the passenger side then take the cover off, remove the large gear wheel in there and you'll find a clip plinth type thing on the gear which opperates the park switch. pop it off and clip it into the other side of the wheel and it will now park on the drivers side

DaveC Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 You are right, the Mk1 Mini motor parks wherever you turn it off
