AlanN Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Hi all, I'm Alan and been playing with Old Fords for years, even starting a couple of car clubs... Had a break form cars while my kids grew up, but over the last few years, Ive found a bit more time on my hands. Was given a 1989 MK3 Transit some years ago and Ive been mucking about with it a bit. Home made bumper, skirts, grille, lights and some other bits that are still in the shed, I love playing with plastics, but I'm starting to hate the engine, thats another story. Fitted an old 2.8i V6 with a 3 speed C3 auto I rebuilt, about month back, its not a happy bunny. Anyway, hope to learn a lot and give a lot. All the best

Admin Vista Posted October 1, 2010 Admin Report Posted October 1, 2010 Welcome to OSF! Hello and welcome to OSF We have our own resident Tranny, Fred Transit: Fred's a tranny? I dunno, half the site think's Fred's a man, the other a doris, now you're telling me she's a tranny so she could be either? This is all too confusing for me

aled Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 Hi Alan, Don't take this the wrong way, but do you class your van as Old Skool ? It looks modern to me, but maybe I am living in the past Looks nice though
AlanN Posted October 4, 2010 Author Report Posted October 4, 2010 No, old skool to me is some nice chrome bumpers, I think 1980 is a reasonable suitable cut off, although 1976 was the end of an era for me, hand drawn hand crafted over to the cad computer... I'm not sure what the eighties would be called in time, not shit for a start, theres some great cars, but not as nice as the 60's. IF I had the money, Id be buying a Cortina MK2 series 2 GT or Lotus, Escort MK1 RS, Oh and a Capri MK1 RS and and and... Dam! I gonna need a massive garage... Ive had my time blowing thousands on resto's and now nowdays, I like pottering around with my van
