It never used to unless things have changed in recent years..

so when insuring the car could you say standard if it states it on the log book

No you couldn't. As far as the insurance question goes, it relates to modified from the condition it left the factory.

You could, but dont run up the back of me because you wont be insured!!!

your best just changing it on the logbook, it wont make your policy much more mate as its classic anyway! Best be safe than sorry chris!

i got my log book back from DVLA yesterday i had to change it from 1100cc to 4942cc i just filled out the boxes on the back and sent them a letter from the "garage" to confirm installation and specific engine size and number, it took about 3 weeks to come back and it dosent say modified. hope this helps
