fefu17 Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Hi everyone, I am from Malta and we have 2 escorts in the family This ermine white mk1 is a 1969 1300 super, bought new by my dad (still has original bills of sale). It has all the original body panels, engine, no welding etc. Mods incl. MAG GT wheels, alfa romeo back box, highlift cam, astrali wheel. Whereas this diamond mk2 is a 1975 1300 popular. I am the 3rd owner being previously owned by my dad since 1980. It was restored some years ago and I used it daily until recently as I bought a 1.7 puma. It's quite standard apart from superlites, rs wheel and some later spec items like grille and badges.
Muggy Bonehead Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Gorgeous examples you got there m8
Goldcrest Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 I agree, you have two great looking motors there.

In The Pit Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 They look great, do you have any photos of the interior of the MKII?
fefu17 Posted October 19, 2010 Author Report Posted October 19, 2010 sure need to take some better pics when I have the time and mk1..
fefu17 Posted October 17, 2012 Author Report Posted October 17, 2012 Not much of an update. Resprayed the bonnet and heater bubble of the mk1, refurbished the rad and cleaned the engine bay a bit. Also fitted the original steering wheel: As for the mk2, it was put back into daily use whilst the fiesta is in a sorry state. Started first time without even needing a battery charge after more than 6 months in the lock-up...good boy
fefu17 Posted March 30, 2013 Author Report Posted March 30, 2013 Managed to spare some time to get the mk1 out for a drive this weekend...I should do this more often
fefu17 Posted September 21, 2013 Author Report Posted September 21, 2013 A couple of photos I took today...
fefu17 Posted September 28, 2013 Author Report Posted September 28, 2013 Cheers...new dash top, switches and original gear knob fitted: Also a couple of recent pics of the mk2...full restoration on the cards but still doesn't look bad after a good wash:
studley73 Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 well it has to be said these are to lovely cars and its nice to see them still going strong
fefu17 Posted October 19, 2014 Author Report Posted October 19, 2014 Haven't updated this thread for a while now. The mk1 is getting a good run every now and then while the mk2 is being stripped out for a full restoration. Here are some recent pics:
